My very first Yom Kippur fast

From Sundown tonight, to Sundown tomorrow it’s Yom Kippur; the holiest and most important date on the Jewish Calender. To bring in the holiday my fellow WUJees and I held a pot-luck dinner followed by attending a service and a visit to the Kotel/Western Wall. Tomorrow we will be breaking the fast together with a breaking the fast ‘breakfast’ dinner followed by a movie night.

Today is important to me because this will be the very first time I have fasted. To commemorate this milestone in my life I’ll be writing a note to myself to read before I go to sleep, and when I wake up tomorrow. I will carry the note in my wallet until next Yom Kippur to remind myself of what I seek to.

I don’t usually write New Years resolutions, so to write the note is a special thing to me.
